What Causes Rapid Heart Rate And Weakness While On Beta Blocker?

Question: My husband has type 2 diabetes and a slight blockage. He is 80 and overweight. The dr. put him on beta blockers but they made him so tired, he was taking 3 or 4 naps a day. He went off them two days ago and got all his energy back and felt great. But then he read that going off abruptly is dangerous. What should he do?
Brief Answer:
Can be relativety safe in case of small doses
Detailed Answer:
Dear Mrs,
In case of small doses it is ok.
Anyway, if he didn't take beta blocker for two days and there were no deterioration and he experienced no arrhythmia, there is nothing to worry.
But for the future I would advise not to discontinue any medication without telling your doctor.
Wishing a good health to your husband.
