Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank your for writing to us at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your query. I have also reviewed the Image.
As the rash is evanescent and also after going through the image I will keep a tentative diagnosis of urticaria/ hives.
However, I would like to gather more information from you to substantiate my diagnosis and in order to be able to guide you better.
-Is the rash itchy?

Thanks for your help.
Brief Answer:
Generalized Urticaria. I suggest symptomatic treatment for a week
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Rashes due to poison oak usually happens at the site of contact. The allergen is an oil present in poison oak, urushiol.
The rash can appear on any part of the body which comes into contact with the allergen, usually extremities.
The rash can continue to appear on new parts of the body when other parts of the body touch the oil Or you inadvertently spread the oil on your skin by touching other parts of your body, in the process of scratching.
Sometimes, if the body mounts a severe reaction so that even a localized rash can become widespread and presents as generalized hives.
I suggest that he continues with the steroid pack for a week.
In addition to that I also suggest an OTC Oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine twice daily for a few days.
Topically he may use a soothing lotion, twice or thrice daily.
