What Causes Rashes On The Elbows While Travelling Through Tropical Regions?
Question: Hi, I've been traveling thru Thailand and Cambodia for 1 week. I just noticed a rash developing on both of my elbows and in the middle of one of my feet. I've been traveling along the coast and in the jungle, including swimming in a pond in the jungle, and I had a "fish foot massage" at a bizarre mall. I believe I saw the first symptoms after the fish foot massage.
I'm wondering if I should be concerned about this rash? Please let me know, I've also received bug bites, I think all from mosquitos. I've had an internitt upset stomach for most of the past week, but think that's related to the food. No other irregular symptoms.

Pictures attached. The pharmacist said to hse a cream called dipolac, which I applies?
Brief Answer:
Seems to be reaction to bite or crawling of an insect, dipolac cream fine
Detailed Answer:
I have reviewed the attached photographs and it seems to be a reaction to either crawling or bite of an insect.
The cream ( dipolac cream ) given to you is fine as it contains a steroid and will help in settling the reaction.
You can use it twice daily for few days.
If the rash is associated with itching take antihistaminic like tablet Cetrizine 10 mg once or twice daily depending on the intensity of itching.

Okay, thank you. So to be certain, you don't believe there's a high risk of something contracted from swimming in dirty water, or scabies or bed bugs or anything like that?
Thank you again.
Thank you again.
Brief Answer:
Welcome
Detailed Answer:
I don't think it is anything serious like scabies or bug bites.
It should resolve in few days.
