Brief Answer:
Possibility of fungal infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I ma Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query.

I would keep a possibility of Fungal Infection, because the location is such that it is very characteristic of fungal infection and also because she is diabetic, which also increases the chances of fungal infection

I would suggest her to use an OTC antifungal e,g clotrimazole 1% cream, twice daily for 2-4 weeks.

If I was the treating doctor I would have also started her on Oral antifungals e.g Fluconazole or Terbinafine. However, these are available only on prescription. Therefore, I would suggest that you get a written prescription for these from a doctor before trying them. I would have preferred terbinafine rather than fluconazole for her because it has lesser or very few interactions with other medicines that she would be taking for blood pressure and diabetes.

An OTC oral antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg would provide her symptomatic relief from itching.

Strict control of blood sugar is vital to prevent a recurrence.

Brief Answer:
Oral+ topical antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

I have reviewed the photographs.

Clotin-B contains clotrimazole, an antifungal + beclomethasone dipropionate, a topical steroid. It would be better if she uses just a plain antifungal e.g either clotrimazole 1% or even better if she uses a terbinafine 1% in a cream formulation.

Along with that an Oral antifungal e.g either Terbinafine or Fluconazole would be rapidly effective.

Cetrizien 10 mg is available OTC and would help to relieve associated itching

These all are prescription medicines. Therefore, I would suggest a visit to a dermatologist in your region.

Regards
