Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Here are the possible causes for this type of vomiting-

-recurrent retching may disrupt the vascular outline creating small bleeds internally along the food pipe and stomach; this in turn can cause the color. Black color in the vomitus implies altered blood usually arising from the stomach.

-also depends on the type of food taken prior to the vomiting

-persistent untreated gastritis can also lead to small gastric bleeds and such vomiting

-finally, liver function also should be tested.

So, I would suggest a physician check up along with an opinion from your consultant and plan proper further management. Treatment for any gastritis, anti-emetics to relieve any retching and vomiting, digestive enzymes to aid proper digestion and management of any altered liver function may all be necessary.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
