default
Posted on Thu, 10 Mar 2016
Question: My Mom has had dizzy spells and vomiting off and on for past 2 months. She will fell good for 4-5 days in a row and then here the dizziness comes and she feels she can either lie down or only set up and not move. However this morning she says she is so tired from laying and feels like she is going to throw up but has not eaten anything since noon yesterday and her eyes are just flipping as she describes it. She looks at pictures on her shelves and she said they just go back and forth and she feels like when you get off of a merry go round. Looking for answers please. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Consult an ENT specialist for Brandt-Daroff exercise

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
Vertigo and vomiting at this age may be due to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo due to movement of otolith in inner ear canals.
Is her blood pressure normal?
Any neck pain or cervical spondylosis?
Any facial deviation, dysphagia, speech changes , weakness of limbs or any sensory loss?
For treatment I prefer to administer dizitac twice daily doses in my patients.
Consultation and visit to ENT specialist will help by explaining Brandt-Daroff exercise.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
