What Causes Recurrent Dry Cough?

Question: I have been having this dry cough for arounf 3 years now. Its something that comes and goes on its own. Like every 2-3 weeks. I recently visited a ENT, he has given me some allergic meds and told me to get a CT scan as he thinks there is something wrong with my nose which is causing this irritation in my throat. I went to one doctor 2 years back he too told me that my sinus shape or something is a little different and might need a minor correction. What do you think about this?
Brief Answer:
Most probably suffering from the sinusitis with DNS
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your query; it suggests that you maybe suffering from the sinusitis with deviated nasal septum(DNS).
Just faith on your doctor and go for the CT scan paranasal sinuses to rule out the disease and to see the extent of the disease.
Either send me the report of CT scan paranasal sinuses for further management plan or consult with your ENT specialist.

Brief Answer:
Deviated Nasal septum
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir,
I have gone through your CT scan paranasal sinus report; it suggests that main problem is deviated nasal septum (S shaped) with spur on the left side i.e. part of the nose that divides the nose in two nostrils is `S Shaped` and one small growth of bone on the left side instead of straight.
CT scan also suggests that mild sinusitis on the both side and it can be treated conservatively.
I personally suggest you that you go for the septoplasty.

I really appreciate you for taking time to write doctor for your response.
I have a couple of questions.
1. Is this surgery mandatory for me? Can this be cured using medicines?
2. Are there any risks associated with this?
3. Is this a major or minor surgery?
4. Will this also cure me from the frequent colds that i get, apart from dry coughs?
Thanks,
XXXX
