default
Posted on Fri, 23 Jan 2015
Question: I had a full knee replacement at the end of July, since then under the observation of the doctor I had been taking paracetamol quite frequently with the occasional codeine, due to quite a lot of pain in knee and leg causing difficulty in moving. As things have improved I have stopped taking the paracetamol ,but since have had a headache I can't get rid off.Can it be from taking the amount of paracetamol I had been taking but now stopped?

Brief Answer:
It is unlikely to be due to stopping paracetamol

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic for posting your query

I'm Dr. Sudhir Kumar,

I have gone through your question in detail and understand your concern.Your headache is unlikely to be due to stopping paracetamol as paracetamol in not a habit forming drug and does not cause dependence.Cause of headache can be another.

You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it.

Hope I have answered your query.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
