What Causes Recurrent Oral Ulcer?

Question: Since around November or December 2013, I noticed a small ulcer in my mouth.
It has persisted ever since. It changes its size and sometimes even disappears. But once every one or two weeks, the ulcer returns and becomes visible. I can feel it's presence at the back of my tongue (see pictures).
I can feel the ulcer, but it isn't painful like other mouth ulcers I have had (other mouth ulcers also disappeared in a week or two). At the same time, the area is not numb.
I was given Nervup by a doctor and asked to visit the ENT. When I went to the ENT, the ulcer had disappeared and he told me to come at a later time when it did show up again!
What do you think this is?

Thanks for your answer.
I got a blood test done a month ago. These are my results, where it shows Vitamin D deficiency. I have been taking 60, 000 units of D3 per week for the past one month. I am also attaching my blood report to this query. (Blood Report Feb_2014.jpg). In case it is not visible, the same blood report is also available here: http://1drv.ms/NCmVyN
I don't smoke and I don't drink.
Answers to questions:
1. I have joint pain on my right jaw (ulcer is also on right side), but this pain has been around since summer 2013 and is related to dental problems (I have a "deep bite").
2. I don't think I have any rashes.
3. No photo-sensitivity.
4. Again, I don't think I have observed reddening of eyes.
5. I don't have any other oral or genital ulcers right now.
I have also been told that this could be due to stress, and I have been given multivitamins.
Thanks again!
Brief Answer:
Get Dental Examination
Detailed Answer:
Welcome again.
I have seen your reports. Vitamin D deficiency can not cause mouth ulcers.
But since you have recurrent ulcer i advise you to get ANA done, however, you don't have any other signs of Autoimmune disease.
I would also suggest you to get a oral examination by a dentist as, a recurrent trauma by any tooth problem can cause recurrent ulcers.
Stress induced ulcers are mostly related to stress, Pain killers use, Spicy food, Peptic ulcer disease.
So, i advise you to follow accordingly. I am sure you will get relief.
If you don't have any further query, you may please close the discussion and rate it.
Stay Healthy.

Thanks a lot.
Just a few final queries. What is ANA? Is it Antinuclear Antibody test? If so, I will certainly get it done.
I was told to gargle with an iodine based solution yesterday. What is your opinion about this?
Thank you for all your help.
Brief Answer:
Yes should be done.
Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Yes, ANA is Anti Nuclear Antibody test. You may get it done.
Also, that opinion about Betadine gargles is absolutely right and should be done.
It prevents any infection in mouth as a result of using Konacort Ointement if taken for ulcers.
