What Causes Recurrent Vaginal Yeast Infection?
Antifungals to be tried
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for contacting health care magic.
The most common reason for recurrent vaginal yeast infection is poor hygiene. Other causes can be antibiotic use and stress. A vaginal fluid culture or pap smear may be done to confirm the diagnosis.
Your partner may be infected as well. So it is better to treat the partner alongwith you.
For the yeast infection , you may use the following as we advise at our clinic:-
1. CLOTRIMAZOLE vaginal pessary to be inserted vaginally daily at night for 6 days.
2. Keep the local area dry.
3. TAB CETRIZINE 5mg twice a day for 5 day for relief from itching.
4. Avoid intercourse during the treatment.
In case there is a curdy white discharge from vagina, then you may add antifungal TAB FLUCONAZOLE 150 mg per oral single dose. For your partner, ask him to take TAB FLUCONAZOLE 150mg single dose single dose. You should consult a doctor to confirm the diagnosis and take the treatment.
Regarding vagisil cream & soap is concerned you may avoid that. You can rather consider vinegar washes twice a day for next 6 days.
You should be benefited by the treatment.
