What Causes Recurring Pain, Burning Sensation And Redness In Testicles?

default
Posted on Fri, 10 Jun 2016
Question: I have had a hot burning sensation of the testicles since December. It is very painful to the point of interfering with sleep. There does not seem to be any redness. My GP is only treating me symptomatically but I need to get to the root cause. I was screened for STD's and told it was negative. I was exposed to herpes around the time this started but was treated for that. Coincidentally, I guess, I also have red spots with tenderness of the tongue that is painful. These symptoms wax and wane every 3 to 5 days in a never ending cycle.

Brief Answer:
Tongue lesions could be due to Herpes One infection or Opthus Stomatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have red lesions on tongue with outbreaks repeatedly every 4-5 and burning sensation in testicles .

I shall be happy if you can post me few more details to help me in making comments on your problem.
1) Have you done swab test of fluid or scraping from lesion on tongue ?
2) Have you done Ultrasound Scanning of scrotum ?

In view of history of your wife having sexual contact with a person with herpes 2 infection the possibility of you acquiring Herpes 1 and 2 infection cannot be ruled out unless proved otherwise by swab test of scrapping from lesion on tongue or mucus from mouth .However possibility of these lesions could be due to Opthus Stomatitis.

As regards burning in scrotum it is likely to be due to infection of spermatic cord (Funicullitis)or epididymis( Epididymitid and needs to be confirmed by clinical examination by a qualified Urologist and following test
1) Routine Urine test and culture
2) Ultrasound scanning and color Doppler study of scrotum.

In the mean while start taking following medications for week
1) Take Metronidazole along with Norfloxacin twice daily .
2) Anti Viral medication Acyclovir .This will take care to eliminate Herpes infection 3) Use topical oral gel like Zytee to be applied over tongue and in oral cavity. This will help to reduce pain due to lesions over tongue.
4) Mouth gargles with Chlorhaexidine solution twice daily will help lesions .

Please do write after you get the reports of the tests >Ishall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
