What Causes Recurring Vaginal Infection?
Question: have been having a lot of issues with bad "fishy" vaginal odor. Over the past year I would say every 1-2 months I have gone back to the Gyno and have been tested for everything. Sometimes (not always) the results come back positive for yeast and a bacterial infection and every time I am given either an antibiotic or a suppository to use which gets rid of it very temporarily. Now I have the same issue again about a month and a half later since the last episode. No itching, just very foul/fishy discharge and cloudy urine with white clumps. Sometkmes my urine almost smells like iron as well. (Side note, this all seemed to start around the time i got the copper iud, we thought maybe it was an allergy to copper so i got it taken out and started birthcontrol, switched birth control brands twice with no improvement so i have decided to take myself off birthcontrol completely as of this month but issue still persists) Is there something else going on that it's recurring so much or is there something i am doing wrong/ overlooking?
Brief Answer:
Can be diabetes or infected partner.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can understand your concerns.
The reason that you are getting the infection frequently can be either that you are a diabetic or that your partnenr is infected.
if your partner is infected then every time you have intercourse he will infect you and you will keep having the problem.
So please get your partner on a course of antibiotics for 7 days.
The other thing is that diabetes can lead to frequent infection. So please get your blood sugars tested if you are not sure about your diabetic status.

Brief Answer:
He has no std
Detailed Answer:
ts not that your partner has std .
its just that boys dont keep there penis clean and almost always have some amount of urine smeared on it.
that urine has some bacteria....its a frequent thing.
Tell him to have a course of antibiotic and then clean his penis with soap water before sex and not urinate just before sex.
