Question: if you keep getting yeast infections with invokcana what can I do to not get it without going off of invokcana?
Brief Answer:
It's due to sugars. not the medicine for sugars. Check sugars
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I am Dr Mittal. I have read your message. I think I can help you.
First, I don't think that the medicine is causing yeast infection.
It's a medicine for diabetes.
If your sugars are not well controlled it is well known that recurrent infection like yeast can happen.
You need to check out the sugars.
The dose and medications needs to be modified.
I have tried to make it as simple as possible. I hope that the information contained in this message will be able to help you find the best solution for your problem. Best of luck. Dr Mittal.

I have been a diabetic for 13 years and this is first time I have had a yeast infection since before I found out I was diabetic. I know I had too much sugar at Christmas as my AIC was 9.1. Since then I have been taking better track of my sugar levels. Does it take awhile to get rid of the sugar in your system after having too much?
Brief Answer:
More information
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the response.
The fact remains that as the duration progresses the body's capacity to produce insulin reduces.
So eventually you need more medicine to achieve the same level of sugar control.
Hba1c is a test that indicates sugar control over 3 months, not just Christmas. This means that your sugars are not well controlled and you need more medicine.
Your high sugar intake at Christmas has nothing to do with Hba1c.
