What Causes Red And Shiny Glans Penis?
Question: I have a chronic problem with my glans penis. It is always red, red/purple, very shiny and moist, ultra-sensitive, and I'm unable to fully retract my foreskin; it is too painful and appears to be attached at the ridge of the glans. There is a constant white, greyish white region around the area where the foreskin is attached to the glans.
When flaccid the foreskin completely covers the glans and forms a wrinkled mas about 50mm long. On erection the foreskin only just reveals the tip of my glans.
I wash the area every day and retract the foreskin when urinating. Even warm water stings on my glans.
Yesterday, after gently wiping the glans with soft toilet paper after urinating, I noticed fresh light coloured blood on the tissue. On inspection I noticed blood was seeping through a bright red area of skin on the right side of the glans.
I am approaching my 70th birthday and only have one sexual partner since marriage in 1982. I have type 2 diabetes since 10 years ago, take Cymbalta, Aspirin, Somac, Janumet, Diamicron and Simvastin.
Please could you diagnose my condition and offer assistance?
Brief Answer:
Acute infection which has become chronic over time
Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir, Hi! you have balanoposthitis. in case of type diabetes background, the infection can be fungal as well. if the diabetes is not controlled then infection might recur and become chronic. so now, first let me know your blood glucose status and send one urine culture and collect the white discharge from the glans and send that too for culture and sensitivity. regards!
