What Causes Red Boil On Buttock Along With Nausea And Rash In Pubic Area?

Question: Hi, on Thursday I notice a red, scaly boil on my buttock (right side). I have had flu like symptoms, no fever, stomach nausea. Friday evening there was a rash which continues to grow (on the right side) and it is now moving to the front of my pubic area. It is not itchy or painful, but continuing to spread.
Brief Answer:
Could be due to herpes
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I have gone through the mentioned details. Since it is painful, spreading and associated with flu like symptoms, I feel that it could be herpes. However, I would insist you to upload an image using the facility on the upper right of this page. Based on it I would be better able to comment.
I would await your response.

I have never had herpes before...how would I get herpes on my buttocks?
I have been with my husband for 35 years and neither of us have had another sexual partner. My understanding is that herpes cannot be transmitted by a toilet seat, as I was traveling Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and the outbreak occurred on Thursday.

Brief Answer:
Transmission need not be sexual.Could spread through touch with contaminate
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. Sorry for not being able to write back earlier.
Herpes is a common infection and the transmission need not be through sexual route. If somehow you come in contact with the virus, you could get it. The transmission would have a latent period and it is most likely not related to your recent history of travel. The virus can sit inactive in our nerves for long before they express themselves.
It is hard to comment on whether it is herpes or something else without proper clinical examination. I have just given the probability that seemed more likely to me. I would insist you to get yourself examined by a doctor.
