What Causes Red Itchy Spot On Skin?
Question: my wife is in 9th month of pregancy and hving this red area which is itching. can you kindly let me cause n what medicene or ointment to take. please advise.

Right now for the itching, she can apply Lacto Calamine Lotion .
HOwever, without investigations, it is best not to take further treatment.
This could be a simple allergic skin reaction or dryness.
She should moisturize the area well with Olive oil / Palmer's Cocoa Butter.
Avoid synthetic fabrics, irritants, fragrances etc on the area.
Please get her LFT ( Liver function tests ) done.
At times, a condition called cholestasis of pregnancy can cause such itching and redness, this needs to be ruled out.
IF the LFT is normal, then just Lacto Calamine and Moisturization will help.
Taking an antihistaminic such as Cetirizine will help with the itching.
Keep the nails trimmed.
Consult her obstetrician also.
Is the itching and redness generalized or localized to that area ?
Since how many days is she having it ?
Exactly how many weeks pregnant is she ?

having it from 3 days.
she is in 36 weeks of pregancy and yes its generalize to that region only.
some pple says it might be because babyz hair which is growing and showing symptomz. dont knw if tht is true.
