Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query. I have looked at the picture.

I would keep a possibility of fungal infection/tinea cruris. Clinically fungal infection commonly presents as red rings with central clearing and peripheral spreading and scaly rim. Itching is present in fungal infection.

Sweating, heat and moisture make the environment favorable for fungal proliferation.

If I was the treating doctor I would have asked to use a topical antifungal like either clotrimazole cream OR sertaconazole OR luliconazole cream, twice daily, regularly for 4 weeks.

An oral antifungal e.g fluconazole once every week for 4-6 weeks OR Terbinafine 250 mg once daily for 2-4 weeks, is also advisable.

Please meet your doctor for prescription

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10mg, once daily would help in symptomatic itch relief.

regards

Brief Answer:
Need some more information

Detailed Answer:
Hi.

No, it does'nt look like an STD. It is definitely not Scabies. It looks like a fungal Infection. The only close differential that i could keep is 'Plaque Psoriasis', where there are dry, scaly, erythematous, itchy, well defined plaques mainly on extensor surfaces like the scalp/elbows/knee/legs/lower back etc but it can affect any area of the body.

I would like to clarify

-Do you have itchy plaques like these, anywhere else on your body?Like scalp, elbows/knee/legs/lower back etc?
-Any family history of psoriasis?

However, my first possibility is Fungal Infection. You can use an OTC topical antifungal cream e.g Clotrimazole cream, twice daily over there for 2-4 weeks

An OTC antihistamine e.g cetrizine 10 mg once daily in the evening would help you symptomatically with the itching.
