Kindly send a photo of the rash in...
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX,
Before running into final conclusions, I need to have a picture of the rash you are having. Can you send a photo in?
Facial cellulitis is a type of skin infection involving dermis and subcuatenous fat. It is characterized by rash in the face. Did you have rash in your face when first diagnosed with facial cellulitis.
Several bacterial can be a potential cause to cellulitis, where Staphylococcus is one of the most common factors.
You are saying that you have a red rash under your right eye:
- is it painful? itchy?
- does it resemble to the rash when you were first diagnosed with facial cellulitis?
Looking forward to have your further data in!

Can go to ER to put your mind at peace...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for following up.
Ok, then, if the rash appeared only today and it does not seem or itch like the other part which has cellulitis, then, you can go to ER and let them examine the rash and put your mind at peace.
I think it is due to cellulitis though. It will take some time before you'll have improvement and need to repeat taking another course of antibiotics until it is completely resolved.

Intravenous antibiotics&diabetes testing advised..
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
I understand your concerns but as said earlier, cellulitis needs a longer treatment. Please bare in mind that Staph infection is very difficult to treat, because it is often associated with resistance.
In other words, you can start a course of antibiotics, but, at the end or in the middle of the treatment, this bacteria might develop such mutations that gives protection to the antibiotic making it ineffective. That's why, other antibiotics might be suggested.
Although you are having tough times, I believe, you might have improvement as compared to the beginning. You should refer this to your doctor. Even a small improvement can make a difference.
If I was your caring doctor, would put on intravenous antibiotics for the first 3 days, followed by oral therapy. You can discuss about intravenous therapy with your doctor.
I also advise to measure your blood sugar levels to exclude diabetes as it might interfere with healing process (make it difficult to get improvement).
Wish fast recovery!
