Brief Answer:
Start antihistamines and anti allergic drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Hair dyes are containing very allergic substances. So possibility of allergic reaction is high with hair dyes.
And generic brands are carrying more risk or allergy than standard brands.
So he is having allergic reaction to XXXXXXX
Ask him to drink plenty of fluids orally. Wash his face thoroughly 4-5 times a day.
Start antihistamines and anti allergic drugs.
Combination of antihistamine (fexofenadine or levocetrizine) and anti allergic (montelukast) is easily available in market. Since it is prescribed medicine, you need doctor 's prescription for it.
Usual time of recovery is 4-5 days.
But if he continues to redness, worsening itching and swelling then immediately consult doctor because all these need injections to control allergy.
Hope I have solved your query.
I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your nephew. Thanks.
