Brief Answer:
Allergic response can be due to other causes as well

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome!

I am Dr V XXXXXXX a Dermatologist.

I have noted your query and would like to help you solve the problem.

First step that is needed is to stop the medication suspected of being a cause.
One need to sponge the affected areas frequently and not apply any chemical or face wash.
Just protect from the harsh climate, dust, sun, and chemicals.

One can use a moisturizer for the time being and use LEVOCETIRIZINE 5 mg, an anti allergic to relieve symptoms. Benadryl, as suggested by your doctor, is also known to be quite effective.

Please let me know the indication for which the stated medication was prescribed. Few pics would be a great help.

Is the rash confined to areas of application or encroaching upon other areas too?
Has he shown an allergy to another agent in the past?

I hope it settles soon with the provided suggestions.
I will await further information.

Best wishes
