Needs Management, Stool color monitoring, vaginal dryness with estrogens
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concern. The question has two parts. One is regarding hard stools eith change color tinge from brown to red giving you a feeling of fullness and other is dry vagina with abdominal pressure.
As far as the color of the stool is concerned if it is one episode one can attribute it to the recent foods you too . Common foods which cause stool color to change to reddish brown are Red food coloring, beets, cranberries, tomato juice or soup, red gelatin or drink mixes. All you need to do is wait and see, increase intake of fluids and fiber, adapt good bowel and toilet habits and take some laxatives for symptomatic relief. This pressure and fullness feeling in abdomen is due to incomplete evacution and constipation. You need to modify diet and lifestyle and add some laxatives on need basis. The issue will resolve. If the color continues this way or become more bright red, that will be the time to get evaluated for the cause of bleeding from lower Gastrointestinal tract.
As far as dry vagina with itching is concerned. That is due to likely perimenopausal age the transition phase where estrogen levels drop and cause such dryness symptoms and resulting symptoms. Douching, cigarette smoking or some autoimmune conditions like sjogren's syndrome can also present this way. Allergy and cold medications and decongestants can also cause vaginal dryness.
You can get vaginal estrogen creams like Estrace, Premarin or vaginal rings like Estring or vaginal tablets like vagifem.
Also water based lubricants like astroglide can keep your vagina lubricated and prevent dryness for several hours. Moisturizers like lubrin and replens also helps.
Avoid using these products to treat vaginal dryness because they may irritate your vagina:
Vinegar, yogurt or other douches
Hand lotions
Antibacterial or fragrant soaps
Bubble baths or bath oils
Also avoid using scented or perfumed products, including toilet paper and detergents.
Talk to your doctor for further management. I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
