What Causes Redness And Itching In The Eyes?

Question: I had individual eyelash extensions put on and apparently am allergic to the glue used. My eyes are bloodshot and the lash line is red and itchy. I called technician that did it and she said she has a solution to remove but is very strong. I've tried other ways, warm water, steam and coconut oil to no avail. I'm worried to use anything as strong as she uses to remove so am wondering if is more harmful to leave them on until they naturally come off (about 3 weeks if I keep applying oil)?

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that you are getting contact dermatitis due to allergic response to the chemical. The chemical (glue) needs to be removed. It seems that the technician is mentioning that the solvent has strong dissolution capacity. Nevertheless you should go for it. Unless the glue is removed, the problem is likely to worsen.

I would insist you to take some antiallergic like fexofenadine (prescription medicine). Cetirizine is an over the counter alternative. It is very important to moisturize the area with aloe vera lotion or similar stuff. It is advisable to visit a doctor and to remain under his follow up.

I have Benadryl on hand, is that as good as Zyrtec (Cetirizine)?

You can use any one of the two. It is similar to Zyrtec (Cetirizine). Fexofenadine is better but is a prescription medicine.
