Question: I noticed a hard knot behind my right ear two days ago and today my ear is red and hot...I am 9 year breast cancer survivor so a bit concerned. No other symptoms and feel fine other wise

Needle examination of the knot is needed in your case.

I understand your concern.

Its extremely important to rule out metastatic recurrence of breast cancer in your case.

Any knot should be carefully examined to rule out cancer regrowth.

For this you need to have a needle examination/FNAC of the knot to know about its histological appearance.

In case if the histological features suggest benign features,then you need not worry.
