What Causes Redness In The Eyes?
Question: My wife's left eye cornor adjacent to nose is iching . I dont see any redness, please suggest why it is happening and what is the cure.
Brief Answer:
Allergic conjunctivitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Itching without redness or discharge is usually allergic conjunctivitis. Occasionally, it can also by viral infections but the treatment and duration is the same. Duration can be up to about 10 days. I would recommend taking an antihistamine and getting lubricating eye drop. I would also recommend topical antihistamine. The saline eye drops can make your symptoms worse. If it is becoming worse, I would recommend seeing your primary care to get steroid eye drops.
If you notice discharge in the next couple days, then I would recommend seeing a medical profession because it can become infected.
