What Causes Redness On Scrotum?

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Sep 2015
Question: My entire scrotum is a somewhat bright red in color. There is no itchiness, blotchiness, bumps or anything else apparently abnormal other than the bright red color. If anything, the only additional abnormality would be that the scrotum area feels a little warmer than normal.

Brief Answer:
possible epididimitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to HCM.
These symptoms may indicate several conditions but most common is epididmytis which means inflammation of epidydimis which is part of testicles. It is benign condition but should be treated with doxicicline antibiotic and further tests should be done to rule out STD. Also if there is growing swelling then you should do ultrasound of testicles and visit urologist since some other diagnoses may be considered. Wish you good health. Regardas
