What Causes Reduced And Light Menstruation After Intercourse?

Question: My girlfriend has been on birth control for a few months now. We had unprotected sex a couple times last month. I did not cum inside of her. But the day her period was suppose to happen all she had were cramps. The next morning she woke up to brown discharge. It was light but consistent for the rest of the day and the next. Then all the sudden it stopped no bleeding no cramps. Nothing. She has head aches but those are normal threw the month. We are very scared, we are not ready for a baby. Is there anything you can tell me about our situation.

Please take a pregnancy test still to confirm this.
Continue taking the pill on schedule.
If the test is negative, you have no reason to worry.
