Brief Answer:
Age related. No medication necessary.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Jyothi BL and I will be answering your query.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Its a simple renal cyst. It is common as people age (about 25% over 40 years and 50% over 50 years can have simple renal cysts). No exact cause is noted, possible causes include obstruction of tubules or blood supply deficiency.

2. If there are no complications, no treatment is necessary. At present, all surrounding areas are normal. Not to worry. Periodic monitoring by ultrasound is adequate.

3. It may rarely present with pain in hips. When symptomatic, or blocking urine or blood flow, sclerotherapy by ultrasound puncturing of cysts and hardening of walls maybe done.

4. No medication is there to cure it. Usually, no therapy is necessary for life, unless complications occur, which are rare. No diet restrictions or anything. You can carry on with your actual life.

Hope it helps.
