What Causes Sac Like Outgrowths On Armpit?

default
Posted on Thu, 22 May 2014
Question: I had a modified radical mastectomy on my right breast, with 27 lymph nodes removed. This was in 1985, and I have had no problems since, until this past Sunday. I decided to shave under my arms, and when I looked at my right arm pit, there were 5 or 6 sac-like things attached to my arm pit. I pulled at one and it came right off. It was so disgusting that I pulled them all off and flushed them. I couldn't imagine what they were or where they came from. Later my arm pit felt sore as if I had shaved too closely. Can you tell me what they were and what caused them?

Brief Answer:
could be warts

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to HCM.

First thing, you should had preserved at least one of them and shown it to a physician or at least taken a picture of it. As without seeing it, it will be very difficult to comment on it.

But as far as I can guess, it could be a wart - a senile skin change. I would suggest that you now take a course of antibiotic for five days to control the infection which can occur following an excision and if it recurs then show it to a physician before excising it.

Hope, i have been helpful.

Regards
