What Causes Scab Like Sores On The Scalp?
Question: I have scab-like outbreakes or sores on my scalp. The oldest such outbreak was a solitary sore, with me for 15 to 20 years; During those years it did not get bigger or smaller ( about the size of a dime). That solitary sore also remained quiet and did not spread elsewhere or itch. However, about a year ago, that sore diminished in color (paler and less reddish). It slowly reduced its diameter, and appears to be going away. However, a second outbreak or sore appeared on the other side of my scalp and has grown to a diameter of a dime, and remains reddish and has a thickness of a dime or nickel; No itching is associated. Likewise, four very small blister-like sites have also appeared at other locations. Currently, the new blisters are quiet and do not itch. Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at healthcaremagic
I have gone through your history and according to me there are 2 possibilities:
either trichilemmal cyst or pilomatricoma both are benign tumours of the hair.
To confirm the diagnosis you need to consult a doctor and go for excision biopsy of the lesions.
