Sometimes I have a queer feeling as if some cold water is coursing in my head beneath the skull. I don't know what to make of it. It goes off of its own after some time. What should be done?

Sensation of cold water coursing through head is suggestive of neuropathic pain.
It is probably due to improper functioning of superficial nerves in the affected area.

The common causes for this conditions are vitamin deficiencies, diabetes, thyroid problem, alcohol use.

I would thus recommend blood testing of sugar levels, TSH, T3, T4, Vitamin B12 levels and complete blood count.

You should increase intake of dairy products, can take multivitamin supplements and quit alcohol if you consume.
