What Causes Sensation Of Feeling The Heart Beat And Shortness Of Breath?

Question: I am a young female, and for as long as I have cared I have had a rapid (90-110 bpm) and irregular pulse. Usually I don't care and live my life normally. But lately I have these feelings of uncomfortable almost "yucky" feeling in the left side of my chest, and it "radiates" down throughout my left side and stomach. Also around my heart the feeling that something is rubbing against something else when I take a deep breath in. I can't really describe the feeling, because it isn't painful, it is just weird and kind of makes my stomach churn. Should I get checked out? Or should I just let it go?
Brief Answer:
Thyroid profile test should be carried out to rule out hypothyroidism.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Thyroid profile test should be carried out to rule out hypothyroidism. In hypothyroidism you can get symptoms like this and it is common in young females. Other conditions like mitral valve prolapse also can give such symptoms. So an ECG followed by an Echo cardiography will be helpful also.
If there is no such problems then it can be due to anxiety and associated gastritis. In such case short course anxiolytics and breathing exercises will be helpful.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
