default
Posted on Sat, 9 Jul 2016
Question: I am a 61 year old male, average conditioning, HBP and cholesterol. Recently my left breast nipple has been sensitive, come and goes. I have check and there is no lump in the breast.
I have not changed washing detergent or injured it, so do not know any reason it would be sensitive.
Thank you

Brief Answer:
May be physiological

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Male/61 - average conditioning - HBP and Colesterol - left breast nipple sensitive - comes and goes - no lump on checking - not changed washing detergent - no injury ...

Please elucidate sensitive:
Does the tip of nipple stand out and becomes very sensitive to touch?
Is there any change in areola (the dark skin around)?
What are the medicines you are taking and since when?

If there is no change in the color, contour, skin texture, no weeping or eczema changes, I do not think there is anything to worry about.
This may be physiological.

You may please send the clear pictures of both the nipples with skin around as it helps for on-the-spot diagnosis. And a consultation, clinical evaluation, examination and tests would confirm or rule out any pathology.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.
