What Causes Severe Back Pain In Upper Right Side Between Spine And Scapula?
Question: I have had severe back pain in the upper right side of my back between my spine and scapula. It started two years ago. I have had an MRI of cervical and thoracic spine which came out negative. I have had acupuncture, physical therapy, seen multiple chiropractors (a total of 16 Drs., therapists etc.) The pain is always there with it a little better in the morning and gradually getting worse as the day goes on. Could it be my pancreas or something else other than spinal?

Pain you have can be due to alot of causes which can be classified according to structures which are encountered in that area like first of all muscles in that area can hurt due to poor and bad posture tendons of the muscles can be affected and can result in pain
Shingles in the area can also cause pain. Herniated dics or broken vertebra or any nerve compression can lead to pain. Liver cirrhosis , gall bladder problems like stone and cholystitis can also cause pain acute pancreatitis can also lead to pain like that.
In coronary artery disease some patient can complain of back scapular pain
In aortic dissection there is also sevear pain in between the scapula. Arthritis of the joint can alsk cause pain.
Stomach conditions like GERD gastritis peptic ulcer disease can also be the cause.
Investigation needed are spine x ray u/s andomen
Serum amylase
ct chest can also be done .
