What Causes Severe Body Pain And Fatigue After Intercourse?
Question: My question is that after sex i feel very tired. on the same day after intercourse my legs below thie starts penning and sometime it believe nothing is there below thie . on second day entire body starts penning and face become very dull. the concentration in work gets loose and i am unable to think and take complicated decision in workplace. Sometime becomes confused. entire day the sweating starts and its more in underarms and near by penis region. symptoms still remains on third day and its starts subsiding on third day onwards and it take me 5-6 days to restore original. i am masturbating since last 19 years weekly once by seeing porn movies and intimating with girls. i never did intercource till marriage. i am married since last 7 year. i am having son of 5 years and is healthy.

I think, in view of the added symptoms, the lumbar radiculopathy is a strong possibility.
I suggest testing an MRI LS spine.
This will help confirm the diagnosis.
The treatment would be mainly in 2 parts
1. for backache- which will need physiotherapy, pregabalin
2. for pain and intercourse related symptoms- these will need a cessation of activity. You will need to abstain from intercourse and masturbation for a few months. Resumption of activities thereafter may be comfortable.

You need to understand that the nerves come out of the back and go to the entire body. So if the back is affected, it will affect the nerves supplying the body as well.
Pregabalin is a medicine often prescribed for back ache to relieve the nerves that come out of them. Its a prescription drug and you will have to meet a doctor for the same.
Charges of the MRI will depend on the center and I can possibly not predict where you will get it done and how much they will charge for it. You can get that information from the doctor prescribing the above medicine or from the center directly.
I have discussed the issue with my colleague. They feel that the other possibility may be depression. But from your response I dont think that this is a valid suggestion in your case.

Dear Dr. Sorry I am replying again. You are correct, Definitely I am not in depression. But since i am not recovering from this issue since last 5 -6 years even after taking treatment on VItd3, B12 treatment, i got somewhat helpless and believe that i will not come out from this situation.
Any how i want to come out from this situation and want to live a normal life like others.

3. Post coital headache is a frequent phenomenon and a variant of migraine. Treatment advice - a little later.
4.5.6.7. This is called post orgasmic illness syndrome (POIS). The treatment options are in depth psychiatric evaluation, blood pressure recordings (exertional and non exertional) and a medicine called carbamazepine- this is also a medicine used for migraine prevention and therefore its use will help you for both problems. Back problems may also be related and can cause the stiffness as the muscles in the back are stiff too and can take time to relax.
Therefore I suggest
a. consider treatment with carbamazepine- this is a prescription drug (high doses of same medicine is used in epilepsy while low dose is used for migraine and POIS) and you will need to meet a local physician for a prescription for the medicine.
