What Causes Severe Burning Sensation In Bladder?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I have chronic burning sensation in the bladder, made worse when sitting & SEVERE in supine position for sleep. I get up nightly 4 to 8 times, so I basically get no sleep. This has gone on for 8 years. My life has been destroyed - work, relationships, memory, lack of energy overall.
I've tried almost every OAB meds, none of which help much.
Q: has my bladder been damaged by forcing urine through previously blocked prostate? What do I do about it other than catheters?
chronic cystitis is very likely. certain tests needed..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist,i can fully understand your concern.
From your question,i can see the distress you've undergone.
If your cystoscopy shows an unobstucted urethra, you should be able to pass urine.
Why mention catheters ?
Chronic burning sensation in bladder, is usually due to chronic cystitis.
Pain with changes in body positions, will need to be evaluated.
You'll need to give some details like :
1. urine routine and culture reports.
2. blood routine,creatinine,RBS,LFT,platelets,VDRL,HIV and HbsAg.
3. uroflowmetry test.
4. ultrasound scan-KUB with residual urine.
5. report of cystoscopy.
If you send the list of medication taken so far,it'll help in giving an expert advice.
Drink around 10 glasses fluids daily.
