What Causes Severe Diarrhea Post Intake Of Nurofen With The History Of Smallpox?
Question: good afternoon.
4 days ago I woke up with muscular pain and high temperature so I took nurofen which was very helpful. then the next day I started to have severe diarrhea. in almost every 20 minutes I needed to visit the bathroom and passing yellow diarrhea. now I don't have pain but still have diarrhea. today noticed pink color changes on my skin. No touchable rashes or anything. I had smallpox already. Tomorrow I go to see my doctor but I want to be calm that it's not as serious as I think right now.
thank you

Hello again.
Thanks for providing the images.
Based on the history you gave it appears you had an allergic reaction to the salicylate drug ibuprofen. If you were my patient I would advise h 2 blocker like ranitidine. Fluid replacement with isotonic solutions such as OR or gastrolyte should be done. Enterogermina probiotic would help subside the diarrhoea quicker. If the diarrhoea worsens despite the above then an infectious cause should be looked for especially if there appears blood in stool accompanied by leucocytes and high grade fever. IV fluid replacement and antibiotics may be required in that case.
For the time being replace fluids and take some h 2 blocker available over the counter. Bismol containing bismuth or debridat containing trimebutine maleate can also be used as anti diarrheal agents.
Please consult your doctor before taking any further course of action
