What Causes Severe Fatigue While Having Crohn's Disease?

default
Posted on Mon, 17 Apr 2017
Question: Severe fatigue, not improved with rest or fluids, history of Crohn's disease (not currently flaring), momentary disorientation on waking along with a panicky feeling and feeling of possible heartbeat irregularity, dizziness with sudden positional changes (lying down to sitting up quickly). Started Wednesday with just a mild sore throat and occasional dry cough. Sore throat is gone, cough is gone. No fever. Blood pressure normal. Pulse slightly higher than normal at 112. Normal is around 85. Urgent care was positing that I may have a thyroid issue. Thoughts on how to improve symptoms? Blood work will not be back until Monday morning.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
While hyperthyroidism ( thyrotoxicosis ) can be a cause for your symptoms, it's possible that it may just be due to anxiety which sometimes follows a recent viral infection.
Take rest, relax, have wholesome food and warm fluids and you would feel better.
Do get back to me if you have further questions.
