What Causes Severe Fever Post A Liver Biopsy?
Question: why do I have an ongoing fever after a liver biopsy. I am on two antibiotics

I read your question and I understand your concern. Liver biopsy followed by fever currently on two antibiotics should have been worked up for the cause and focus of infection. Ideally liver biopsy is a minimal invasion and cant lead to infection on its own unless there was some focus already there like abscess etc. Complete sets of blood cultures and other baseline investigations should have been performed for better understanding of the disease process. Now that antibiotics are started, complete the dosage and keep the trmperature chart and wait and see. if fever persists even after dose completion then further workup will be addressed. For now just wait and continue the medications.
