I was prescribed Cymbalta about 6 weeks ago. I take 60 mg 1x per day. I was prescribed flexeril a year ago for tension to help me sleep. 10mg. I rarely take it. In fact, I took one last night for the first time in several months. I didn't know that they don't react well together. My head has been hurting since I woke this morning. shooting pain behind my eye and around whole right side.
Brief Answer:
Serotonergic overactivity
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing details.
Both of the medicines if taken together, may cause serotonergic overactivity or full blown-serotonin syndrome.I think, your symptoms are probably resulting from the same mechanism.Don't ever take these two medicines together. These symptoms should improve in a few hours. However,if the severity of symptoms increase, please rush to an emergency room.
Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
