What Causes Severe Headache Followed By Vomiting?

Question: Last Saturday Due to some Family issue at That time I was in Little bit tens and I had not taken food/water till 1:00 pm, after that a instant headache started on peak and in few mins I was not able to sit when I tried I lie down with something happening on my head. my hubby got some food for me but I was not able to eat whatever I eat 1-2 bites it vomits even the headache medicine (dispirin ) , And this was not goin to end till night at least I vomit 15 times without having anything on my stomach after that a injection of GAS I taken and eat a little bit while lie on bed as whenever I sit I feel vomit. Next day was not also not good till the Noon, After that I was fine but weakness and Headache was still their. after that day still the little bit headache I feel in decreasing order. But a abrupt feeling in my head came any time like " when we travel in flight or in Earthquake it is feel like so .. some time it happened when I suddenly lie on bed or sit oe anytime which feel me something wrong on my head I am nt able to explain the feeling. today in the morning same thing happen instaniously I feel like I am not able to sit ... I don't know whats going on in my head .. When I was not well my head was strike with wall due to I was not able to walk this was happen still a little pain is their but I don't think this is much injury for this kind of issue ..thanks for your response

Hello XXXXXXX Welcome to HCM,

I've gone through your query and understand your concern..

Before I go any further with the headache, i must tell you to refrain from all those Over the counter headache pills(like Dispirin), because they are all potent NSAIDs and when taken in empty stomach, very notorious for causing severe gastritis, so no wonder why you needed injection for them, please don't do that..

If the headache is too unbearable, simply take Tab PARACETAMOL 650 mg after some food for two to three times day for the time being..

The initial symptoms which you've described is mainly due to a combination of stress,dehydration and prolonged stay in empty stomach..

However the symptoms afterwards are of throbbing type of headache along with some element of vertigo and ?hypotension (sudden fall in blood pressure)..can even be associated to migraine also..

So to rule out important pathological cause, you must schedule an appointment with a Neurologist for a detailed clinical examination and a few investigations as per the findings..

In the meantime, start drinking a lot of water (2.5-3 ltr per day), stay well hydrated.. prepare a glass of water with 2 tsf of sugar and one tsf of salt and drink it in an hour (slowly), make this mixture 3 to 4 times a day (starting from now) and drink it for next 2 days..

Later on follow up with me how you stay..

Avoid too much tea/coffee and off course no more stress..
