What Causes Severe Leg, Ankle And Knee Pain?

It is not due to Omeprazole
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I can assure you that this pain is not due to Omeprazole. And Ranitine has more side effect than Omeprazole and also less effective, So I think you should continue with omeprazole though doses can be reduced.
As far as your leg pain is concerned I think most probable it is due to nerve related or due to weak bones. But before I advised you any thing I would like to know little detal about your illness.
1. Can you describe your pain, for example Is it like cramp or pin needle like?
2. Are you also having Diabetes or Thyroid also?
3. Does this pain goes when you are awake and walking?
Please send me answers of these questions. I will try my best to help you.
Thanks

1.Several years ago I had a severe bout of sciatica, with a ruptured disk - the pain was all on my right side, from lower back to ankle. As I recovered from it, I was sometimes left with a mild pain in my right leg. It was similar to what I am experiencing now. The pain is not a cramp. It is not needle like. It is a strong, deep ache on the outside/front of my lower leg - localized to an area about 3" x 12". Occasionally I feel it on my left leg also, but never as severe as the right.
2. I do not have Diabetes. I do have Hypothryoid - Hashimoto's disease.
3. When walking, I sometimes have a little discomfort in the same area, but never like the pain I experience while in bed.
Last night I woke up with strong pain in both legs, more in the right. I had to get up and walk around to alleviate it. Today I just have a mild ache in the area.
It can be due to disc herniation
Detailed Answer:
Helllo,
I hve studied your case. I think that this pain can be due to nerve compression in the spine. So I would suggest you fllowing.
1.Since you had history of disc prolapse in past, If this pain is worsening than get MRI of the spine to confirm the diagnosis.
2.Tablet Pregabalin M one daily at night time.
3. Keep your leg elevated over pillow or preferable sleep on side rather than back.
4. Short term use of steroid can be done in formof local injections and tablets.
I hope these steps will help you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
