Brief Answer:
perhaps syrinx

Detailed Answer:
Think of syrinx like a bubble inside the spine. It presses on the spine and really causes a lot of problems. The pain would feel like a bundle of nerves. While I certainly cannot give specific information about your particular situation withotu actually being there to observe you and the medical records I can give information about syrinx and that sure does seem likely to be of value here!

Syrinx (singular, plural, and overall group are all "syrinx") are totally variable with no two being even slightly the same. Obviously bigger, in a harder to get at spot makes it worse. Obviously if it can be shrunk that would help. Often surgery is helpful, but the spot can make that difficult. Furthermore, the areas that are pressed on might or might not come back even if the bubble is burst. Minor shifts in it change everything and if chiropracty worked, then I'm not clear why that isn't just the way to fix it. Drug treatment for the pain of them is not great. In theory, nerve pills are potentially helpful. These include any pill/medicine that can damp down a nerve and include anti-epileptics (gabapentin, pregabalin), pills that alter the nerve effects in the spine (cymbalta) and lidocaine like drugs (many heart arrhythmia drugs that are somewhat dangerous, and amitryptiline which is hardly dangerous at all).

If there is weakness, surgery is generally recommended.

(a bit too complex of an article to be really good).
