What Causes Severe Lower Abdominal Pain, Pressure, Bleeding Ulcer And Heavy Bleeding?

I am a 39 year old female suffering from significant lower abdominal pain, pressure, tenderness, bleeding ulcer, low ferritin (12 ug/L) and horrible periods (blood clots size of hand). I had a CT scan that showed bulky uterus and thickened endometrium with one fibroid. The pain during ovulation has been especially difficult to manage. My dr wants to put me on mirena without a referral to a GYN. Every month is worse wih pain and bleeding. I'm not sure if I should push for a referral to a GYN, more diagnostics or additional therapies. I'm gaining weight and really struggling with lethargy as well. Any advice on how to manage or advocate for help?
Mirena coil will help.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The heavy bleeding that you are having is due to thickened endometrium and fibroid. The pain and bleeding both can be well controlled with mirena. Otherwise you will have to take hormonal tablets regularly that can add to your weight gain. It is best to get a mirena coil and observe the response.
In case the bleeding still persists then do opt for a referral to gynecologist for other therapies like endometrial ablation.
Please feel free to discuss further. I'll be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
