What Causes Severe Lumbar Back Pain?
MRI+NCV
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
I am Dr Mittal
I have read your query
I think I will try to explain to you a part of my thought process
So you may understand the situation better
The nerve sheath tumor is ofcourse attached to the sheath of the nerve- like the skin of the body. Now when we remove the tumor, some damage can always happen to this sheath. A surgeon has to excise a part of it to make sure that all of the tumor has been removed.
In the process the sheath may be damaged, and the functions of it may be damaged. The sheath is not only protective, but also important for conduction of impulses
Eventually pain and other symptoms may result from the damage to the nerve
Now of course there is a chance of recurrence
So I will suggest an MRI along with an NCV of the affected limb
I hope that helps you
