What Causes Severe Muscle Cramps In The Leg At Night?
Question: I am getting periodic nighttime cramps in both legs of my Peroneus Longus or Soleus muscles, usually early in the morning before I wake. Yesterday, I also had a cramp on one of my hamstring muscles (daytime, when I knelt on my knees) and one of my calf muscles (nighttime). The cramps are usually in the muscles on the outside of my legs (calf) and not in the main calf muscle. The pain extends all the way down to my foot. I also occasionally have cramps in the bottom of both feet during the nighttime. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
Dehydration and excessive exercise may be the cause.
