Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015
Question: hello Dr. My fiancé is here with me, she recently flew across the country and back over a span of 5 days, and has had a terrible hemorrhoid flare up. They are getting better, but she is experiencing leg pain "like when you have the flu and someone touches you and it hurts". She is having that in both legs, but her upper body, appetite, and head is normal, no fever. Is this normal? What can she do?
Thanks! XXXXXXX XXXXX

Brief Answer:
It looks like musculoskeletal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it looks like musculoskeletal pain.
Because of journey, she developed pain.
I prescribe Skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside to my patients with similar complaints.
Haemorrhoids will not cause leg pain. For haemorrhoids, please ask her to take High fiber diet, drink plenty of liquids, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Her stool should be soft.
Hope I answered your query.
If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards

Hello Dr.
My fiancé is a licensed massage therapist, and she does not feel that this is muscular-skeletal. The pain was more like at the surface of her skin. I think maybe she had some infection that her body was fighting, very weird to us.
thank you again, XXXXXXX
