Question: My lower left outside of my left leg has been very painful all day. It worsens when I walk. It is not warm to the touch but looks slightly swollen. I had this happen to me before but it gradually goes away in a couple of days. What causes this. I am a type II diabetic.

Brief Answer:
It can be due to neuropathy

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I have studied your case and I think that this pain can be due to neuropathy. It can be compressive neuropathy due to nerve compression in spine or non compressive due to lack of B12. I have following suggestions for you.
1.Tablet Pregabalin M at night time.
2.Avoid forward bending or Weight lifting.
3.Make sure that your blood sugar is well controlled.
4.Check your vitamin B12 level. If B12 level is low then take Methylcobal tablet one daily.
5.MRI may be needed if medicines are not working.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Let me know if you have any other follow up questions.
Thanks
