What Causes Severe Pelvic Pain During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Wed, 31 May 2017
Question: I am 30 weeks pregnant and I was admitted to
the hospital due to a sever pain in hips/pelvice that I couldn't stand from bed , turn in bed or walk straight. They told me it is due to relaxes on the ligaments and I needed rest. After two weeks I was able to stand / walk but not straight but I still can't sleep on the side due to the pain and right the pain is only on my left hips/pelvic. The doctor requested a blood test done and attached are the results she said the results are normal due to pregnancy hormones and I want a second opinion regarding the result and my condition

Well I have gone through your reports. They are mostly normal except high ESR. the pain you are having looks like due to ligament laxity that is loose ligaments. During pregnancy the ligaments get stretched if you have been having loose ligaments since before and pelvis is the most common site since the pelvis has to accommodate for the baby. There is a possibility that your ligaments may have got bruised and that is causing the pain.. which should recover in due course of time. I would suggest you to take physiotherapy sessions as it will be helpful now also and after delivery as well

Do let me know what your doctor said as he is the one who has examined you and then we can come to a common opiniom
