Brief Answer:
Advise to undergo evaluation to look for pulmonary cause for symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic

Since cardiac issues have been ruled out, the next important thing is to look for pulmonary cause for your symptoms.
Chronic Obstructive pulmonary disease, Pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia (usually associated with fever) ,lung tumors can all present with shortness of breath and wheezing.
physical examination, Cheat Xray and Pulmonary function tests are required at this point as initial screening.
I would also like to add that quitting smoking is important, if you do so.
It will also be helpful to check complete blood count and Hemohlobin levels, as anemia can present with shortness of breath.
