What Causes Severe Stomach Cramps, Nausea And Bloating?
Questions for you to help me answer you better.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
So I am trying to figure out the time sequence for all of this. Please let me know some additional information:
1. When you had unprotected sex, how many days was it after your period (counting starting the 1st day of the last period). If you don't remember when that was, what day do you expect your period and how many days is your monthly cycle (such as 28 days)?
2. Was it your stomach that was cramping (upper abdomen) or did you feel like it was your uterus (like menstrual cramps)?
3. How long (how many days) was the cramping, nausea and bloating?
4. Are you having any noticeable fatigue (considerably more than usual) or breast tenderness?
5. How many days ago did you have unprotected sex?
Please answer all 5 questions - thanks!
Information about your cough.
Detailed Answer:
If your periods started Oct. 22 and Nov. 22, it looks like you have a 28 day monthly cycle. So you most likely will ovulate in the next day (Dec. 6) or so. In other words, approximately 14 days after your last period started. So it is less likely that you had ovulated at the time you had unprotected sex, which was only 7 days after your last period started. It can still have happened, but less likely.
It's possible you have a stomach "flu" (gastroenteritis) which may be going around in your community.
Still, I think it would be wise to do a home pregnancy test if you do not get your next period on time.
If you are not pregnant, for the future, consider a regular form of contraception so that you don't have to worry. The Mirena IUD is a particularly appealing newer contraceptive because it makes periods lighter, and the IUD generally requires no work on your part, and is effective for several years.
Another thing to consider: If this situation were to come up again in the future, if you have an IUD (usually the Copper T) inserted within 5 days of unprotected sex, it works great to prevent pregnancy, and you can leave it in for birth control.
I'm sorry it isn't possible to say definitively right now if you are pregnant, but I think the chances are lower.
Good luck.

If having bad pain, go in to be seen
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
If you are having bad pain, then you should go in to see your doctor or if you can't get in to your own doctor quickly, to an urgent care clinic. They can check by physical examination what might be going on. Depending on the location of the pain, it could even be an infection which may need treating. So go ahead and go in to be seen now.
